Term Reflection

 This term was a fruitful experience, I was able to develop many of my skills and add a few of them. The first one was AutoCAD, I think I reached a good introduction to how to use it and how to implement it in my future DMU projects, I learned how to use the laser cutting machines and workshop. scaling, drawing, etc. I think the 3d physical outcome was a successful piece. All thanks to this software.

Throughout the year, I also developed my SketchUp skills, and I think I have a good foundation on it and can sort myself out, However, I do not see it as professional software. Consequently, I will move on to other types of software, but it never hurts to learn a wide range of tools.

Another skill that I developed this year is Architectural drawing, I think I can conceptualize things better now in my mind and I can communicate it through my drawings at a fairly understandable level. Moreover, I feel more comfortable with a pen and hesitate much less.

Thirdly, I think I developed a broader realm of knowledge about my continuation router through the research that I have done about it, I can find more inspiration and contextualize my designs more.

Lastly, this year had its ups and downs, Difficulties and struggles, and I think I handled it, moreover, I think I am ready to progress to the next step and I am excited to do so.

Since my project is derived from industrialism, we need to first ask what is industrial architecture? According to Hohendal, Kristin (2022), The design and construction of structures to support the requirements of the industrial sector is recognized as industrial architecture. The safe movement, distribution, and production of goods and labor are taken into account by the industrial world's architecture, which employs a variety of building designs and styles. Site plan analysis

                   2D picture of the site I chose this plan because it is close to the river yet far enough in case of floods. It is a 20m/20m square, which makes it 400 m². However, the Riad as a building will only be 255m².  This area is a village called Imlil. Which was severely damaged by the last earthquake in September 2023. According to Khatla (2023). Nearly 6000 houses were destroyed whilst 20000 were partly demolished. Final project: style of architecture

Style of architecture: Any Moroccan city you visit will have a distinctive architectural fusion of Islamic, Moorish, Berber, and French styles. Modernist structures are becoming more common, but they still fit in with the colorful mix that makes Morocco so amazing.  (Hachami, 2023) After doing some research, I found that Riad gardens originated in the eastern Persian world, and scholars generally credit this to their eastern Islamic ancestors.
