final project: first architect

   FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT

born on 8 June 1867

Wisconsin, United States / Richland Center.

91 years old, died April 9, 1959, Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.

This architect is one of my favorites, an inspiration to many architecture enthusiasts, he was able to combine many diverse styles of architecture back in his days.

Over a 70-year creative span, he created over 1,000 different structures. Wright was a major figure in the twentieth-century architectural movements. His works and the hundreds of apprentices he trained through the Taliesin Fellowship had an impact on architects all over the world (Caves, R. W. (2004)).Wright espoused the idea of "organic architecture," which is design that is in balance with both the natural world and humankind. Fallingwater (1935), dubbed "the best all-time work of American architecture," is a prime example of this philosophy.[/3]

In addition to creating the idea of the Usonian home in Broadacre City, which is his vision for American urban planning, Wright was the leader of the architectural movement that became known as the Prairie School. In addition, he created unique and avant-garde designs for skyscrapers, churches, schools, hotels, museums, and other business projects. These buildings included Wright-designed interior features, such as leaded glass windows, flooring, furniture, and even tableware. He was a well-liked lecturer in both Europe and the United States, having written multiple books and numerous articles. The American Institute of Architects named Wright "the greatest American architect of all time" in 1991 (Brewster, Mike (July 28, 2004)). A portion of his work was inducted as The 20th-Century Architecture World Heritage Site in 2019.

Please read the hand out sheet I gave out last week and research each research section. The reader needs to understand what they are looking at, you need to research site location, target audience, software, the architects who inspire you, and explain why the project is important
